This LEED Platinum six-story life sciences facility provides collaborative learning environments in the shared instructional facilities with three sister schools in the University System of Maryland – College Park, Baltimore and Baltimore County. Housing programs for physical therapy, dentistry, mechanical and electrical engineering, STEM, biotechnology, biochemistry, biological sciences, environmental science and technology, and kinesiology education, the 220,000 gsf facility is equipped with 20 teaching labs, 12 active learning classrooms, two 120-seat lecture halls, academic and student affairs offices, faculty offices, and clinical training facilities including a community dental practice. A maker space and product design lab support research and commercialization activities. WFT provided fire protection, fire alarm, life safety code analysis, and site electrical design. Site electrical design included utility infrastructure, site lighting, and security systems for a pedestrian pathway and boardwalk connecting campus areas to the new facility.
