A comprehensive renovation and expansion of this existing 171,000 GSF student services building included the addition of 85,000 sf in order to meet current and future needs and create a spacious and open setting for student events, groups, dining and more for the campus community. University Union serves as the campus hub for cocurricular activities, a multitude of student services, and educational, cultural and social programs for students and the entire academic community. New and renewed spaces include a 300-seat auditorium/ movie theatre, a food market with seven food venues, a relocated and expanded Career Center, a 15,000 sf ballroom, and doubled space for student activities and organizations. Phased construction included Phase 1, the new addition with the dining hall and new main entrance and Phase 2, renovation of the existing Union building. WFT provided plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm design, life safety code analysis, and construction administration services.
