University of Virginia Gilmer Hall & Chemistry Building Renovations
Renovation and modernization of two vital teaching and research facilities, Gilmer Hall with 232,000 GSF and the Chemistry Building with 273,000 GSF, was phased and completed while occupied to allow for continued use of the buildings. The project will enable UVA to meet program growth and STEM program needs. Both buildings were constructed in 1968 and house teaching lab functions for the A&S Biology, Psychology and Chemistry Departments. The scope of work included extensive infrastructure upgrades and space renewals with a LEED Silver certification goal performed with multiple phases of construction. WFT provided plumbing pre-design and design services, and is currently performing construction administration services.
