Part of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Central Maryland Research and Education Center (CMREC) is comprised of five Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station research farms and associated facilities located in two central Maryland counties. This new 12,820 gsf headquarters building is located in Howard County near the Clarksville CMREC. The building encompasses a lobby/reception and display area for projects and research, three director offices and 25 staff offices, a conference room, classrooms, a Botany study lab, assembly space and support areas. All new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, life safety, telecommunication, data, A/V and security systems were designed in compliance with high performance green building program requirements.   The building is ADA accessible and design complied with requirements of the High Performance Green Building Program per the Maryland Green Building Council.
