Innovation Hub

Howard University, Washington, DC

Architect: Wingate Hughes Architects
Completed: 2017

Washington, DC’s first inclusive co-working Innovation Hub is located in an old Sports Zone space on the edge of Howard’s campus. The exciting new space was a partnership between Howard University and the District of Columbia, intended to serve as a collaborative environment providing networking opportunities and access to technology including free WiFi for students, entrepreneurs and residents with limited resources.

The 8,160 sf Hub is equipped with 60 work stations, 11 open offices, 4 private offices, 5 classrooms, an expansive event/gathering space, a kitchen, bathrooms, IT and support space, and a mezzanine level on one side.   Our design included a new code compliant HVAC system in addition to plumbing, electrical, lighting and fire protection systems
