Coppin State University Science and Technology Center
This vibrant new academic facility houses science related disciplines including natural sciences, biology, physics, chemistry, STEM, environmental and general sciences, and computer science. The 150,450 sf five-story building features a dramatic stair tower to the north and a glass building element over the main entrance which glows at night. The entry level includes exhibit space and a 100-seat lecture hall; other floors include classrooms, flexible laboratories, advanced undergraduate research space, an animal vivarium, organic learning environments, nanotechnology center, a greenhouse and green roof, campus data center, Information Technology division offices, a penthouse level, and below ground level with a 7,000 sf Satellite Central Utility Plant (SCUP). WFT Engineering provided plumbing and fire protection design and construction administration services.
