Prince Georges Stadium is home to the Chesapeake Baysox, an MLB affiliated baseball team. This design build project involved improvements that were necessary to maintain affiliations with major league teams and to meet the new Professional Development League (PDL) standards adopted by Minor League Baseball. Improvements included a new 12,000 sf two-story Home Clubhouse with an attached 13,200 sf batting and training facility, and renovated visitor’s clubhouse (10,600 sf). New facilities include weight room and training spaces, locker rooms to accommodate up to 32 players, female changing rooms, team commissary for home and visiting teams, increased number of indoor or outdoor hitting tunnels, expanded dugouts with a new replay room and updated finishes, extended fan protection netting, and new dedicated player parking.
